"Hortz" or "we" means the platform at hortz.co operated by Wannabe Press. "You" means anyone who uses the platform — members of communities, admins running communities, and visitors. "Tenant" or "community" means a private space that an admin operates on top of Hortz. Communities have their own rules and may impose additional terms; those terms are between you and the community.
You must be at least 16 to use Hortz. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. One person per account; sharing accounts isn't allowed.

You can't:
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules. We try to give notice; in serious cases (legal risk, ongoing harm) we act first and explain after.
You own what you write. You give us a license to host, display, and process it as needed to run the platform — that includes sending it to language model providers so the AI can respond, and showing it to other community members where you've directed us to (cohort rooms, federation opt-in, etc.). The license ends when you delete your content or close your account.
You're responsible for what you post. Don't post things that violate the law, infringe rights, or are clearly intended to harm others.
The AI advisors aren't licensed therapists, lawyers, doctors, or financial advisors. Their suggestions are starting points, not professional advice. Don't rely on them for crisis intervention — if you're in crisis, see our crisis resources or call 988 (US), 116 123 (UK), or your local emergency line.
The advisors generate output via large language models. The output isn't always accurate. We aren't liable for decisions you make based on it.
Each community is operated by its admin (the tenant). The admin sets community rules, moderates content, decides who's invited. Hortz provides the infrastructure but isn't responsible for community-specific decisions. If you have a problem with a community, raise it with the admin first; if the issue concerns platform-level policy violation (illegal content, account compromise, etc.) contact us.
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on the plan. Trial periods don't auto-charge until you confirm a plan. Cancel anytime; no refund for the unused portion of the current billing period unless required by law. Failed payments may result in service suspension after a 7-day grace period; you can reactivate by updating your payment method.
For affiliate/referral commissions, see our affiliate terms.
Federation lets keys you offer be discoverable to members of other federated communities. Federation is opt-in per tenant and per member. By opting in, you accept that other federated tenants' members may see the limited federation signals you've shared.
How we handle data is in our Privacy Policy. By using Hortz you agree to our privacy practices.
You can close your account anytime in settings. We close accounts immediately on request; data deletion happens within 30 days (longer for backup expiration windows). Tenant admins closing their subscription: members get a 30-day grace to export their data before tenant teardown.
Hortz is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We try to keep the service running but don't guarantee uninterrupted access, particular performance, or freedom from errors. AI-generated content is not guaranteed to be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hortz isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or revenues. Our aggregate liability for direct damages is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100 if you didn't pay anything.
If your use of Hortz causes a third party to bring a claim against us — for example, because of content you posted or actions you took with the platform — you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from that claim.
We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to active accounts with at least 30 days' notice. Continuing to use the platform after the effective date means you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, close your account before the effective date.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts of San Francisco County, California. If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, you also have the rights granted to you by your local law.
